Housing shortage called
a crisis to allow tax hike

I hear a lot of talk about everyone paying their “fair share” of taxes. Is it fair that everyone votes on taxes that will only affect a small, targeted, group of taxpayers? Peter will almost always vote to tax Paul.
Is it ethical for our representatives in government to manipulate voters by structuring bond measures in such a way to secure passage?
We don’t have a housing crisis. We have a housing shortage. Politicians call it a crisis so they can manipulate voters and justify raising taxes.
The real crisis is the unfunded government employee pension liability that is already consuming about 28% of the city of San Jose’s budget. Maybe if we started calling it the Unfunded Government Employee Pension Liability Crisis, they would actually do something about it.
